Jesus and Moses and Elijah are NOT equals… God wants that known… God says this is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased… God says listen to him

It’s better to hear Him then to see Moses and Elijah back from the dead…

When Jesus speaks, God speaks! When you don’t know what to say or what to do, listen to Jesus! When you are confused, listen to Jesus! When you are tempted to give God directions, listen to Jesus! When you think you have a plan and start telling God what to do, put away your foolish plans and listen to Jesus!

When they heard the voice of God, they fell on their faces–terrified

Remember when you go home, Christ is with you!

Christ chose to go back down the mountain…. to disease and sickness, to the Cross…

1. For those who are in Christ, his transfiguration points to our transformation. We are not transformed by looking at other people only Christ… we are to behold only Christ, not to look up and idolize leaders.

2. This gives us a context and a hope not as we live on the mountain but in our life in the valley below.
